Brandywine SPCA:
As the largest animal welfare organization in the region and one of the only remaining open access shelters, they give safety, love, and hope to lost pets.
Grass Roots:
Grass Roots Rescue (GRR) is an all-volunteer, foster based nonprofit organization that has been saving dogs and finding them loving homes since 2013. Take a look at their dogs for adoption or apply to foster.
Clothing Our Kids:
Their mission is to improve the lives of at-risk Head Start through High School students by providing them with new school clothing.

Our Story of Healing, Ohana & Unconditional Love
Inspired by Love. Brewed in Aloha.
Lani Lou’s Brew was born from a journey of healing, love, and the simple comfort found in a warm cup of coffee, loyal companionship, and the spirit of aloha. After Jenna LeCruz was diagnosed with cancer in 2015, life became filled with treatments, difficult days, and emotional challenges. Since 2015, Jenna was diagnoised with cancer two more times, once in 2019 and again in 2022, completing her final surgery in 2023. Through it all, one constant source of comfort remained by her side — her beloved American Staffordshire terrier, Lani . After appointments and treatments, Jenna and Lani would often reward themselves with visits to a local coffee shop, where the welcoming atmosphere offered a small sense of peace and normalcy during a very difficult chapter of life.
Lani wasn’t just a dog; she was family, a best friend, and a steady source of unconditional love. Jenna lovingly called her “Lani Lou,” a nickname that would later inspire the name of the café. When Lani Lou eventually passed away from her own illness, Jenna knew she wanted to create something meaningful in her memory — a place where others could feel the same comfort, warmth, and connection that helped carry her through her hardest days.
Inspired by a deep love for Hawaiian culture and the comforting traditions surrounding coffee, Jenna created Lani Lou’s Brew to bring a taste of aloha to Coastal Delaware through premium Hawaiian coffee and a welcoming island-inspired atmosphere. Every cup is meant to slow life down for a moment, encouraging guests to gather, connect, and appreciate the present — much like the way dogs naturally live in the moment every day.
Today, Lani Lou’s Brew in Millsboro is more than just a café. It is a welcoming, pup-positive space built on kindness, community, and healing. While dogs can’t dine inside, they are always greeted with love, including special pup cups of whipped cream and outdoor seating designed for pet owners to relax together. The café’s cozy atmosphere is filled with artwork celebrating Jenna’s family’s rescue dogs, honoring the incredible bond between people and their pets.
At its heart, Lani Lou’s Brew is a reminder of resilience, healing, and the joy that can come from life’s simplest moments — good Hawaiian coffee, good people, and the unconditional love of a dog.

My cousin JIll passed away in 2019. My Aunt Stepahanie started service project to honor Jill's life, legacy and love of children. These bears have been donated to hospitals and community service organizations who support children in crisis. We are so grateful for the many volunteers who keep this program thriving. One of the tags from Jill's Celebration of Life trees reads "Strong women aren't simply born-they are made through the storms they walk through." This describes Jill perfectly and the example of strength she has been to so many.
